How do I apply?

Employees are recruited using the principles of merit and equity to identify the applicant who best meets the requirements of the position and the Council’s values. We value diversity and adhere to equal opportunity legislation and are a child safe employer.

Applications from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and from people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds are encouraged.

We do not discriminate against candidates based on irrelevant or protected personal characteristics.

Before you apply

Your application must consist of the following:

  1.  A cover letter
  2. An up-to-date Curriculum Vitae (CV) including details of two referees
  3. A document addressing each of the Key Selection Criteria

Addressing Key Selection Criteria

Applicants must address the Key Selection Criteria contained in the position description/recruitment kit for each advertised vacancy. These criteria form the basis for shortlisting and selection. Adequately and succinctly addressing these criteria will improve your chances of gaining an interview.

Use each selection criterion as a heading and then write your response underneath. Make sure your answers are succinct and relevant. Keep the length of each response between one paragraph to half a page. You may want to use bullet points to keep things concise and focused. Please answer each Key Selection Criteria individually and do not join your responses together.

Email employment@indigoshire.vic.gov.au if you have any questions.

About the process

Applicants will receive acknowledgment of their application upon receipt of electronically lodged applications.

We are a child safe employer. Applications for positions that work with children must provide referees who can comment on their experience working with children. These roles also require a valid Working With Children Check.

All offers of employment are subject to a mandatory National Police Check that will be administered by us upon offer of employment.
