Hello everyone,
Yesterday, our community was rocked and deeply saddened by the horrific car crash at Chiltern, which claimed the lives of four people.
On behalf of Indigo Shire, the CEO and I express our deepest condolences to the family and friends of those who tragically lost their lives.
Our thoughts also go out to the young driver of the truck involved and to the Ron Finemore Transport family which is also dealing with this tragedy.
To all the first responders, we are thinking of you and the unimaginable situation you faced yesterday morning.
Many of those who attended the scene are volunteers who live in the local community and give up their time to help others in need. Today I have reached out to our local SES, Ambulance Victoria and CFA to let them know we are wrapping our collective arms around you all.
When something so tragic hits this close to home, it puts so much into perspective, mainly that life is fragile and family, friends and community are so incredibly important.
Please as you move around the Shire this weekend, take care when on the roads, stay focused and arrive home safely.
Regards
Sophie Price and Trevor Ierino
