Blue-green algae detected at Allans Flat Waterhole

On display until 28 February 2025, 09:00 AM

Routine water sampling at Allans Flat Waterhole has revealed the presence of blue-green algae.

A range of algae including non-toxigenic and potentially toxic blue-green algae has been detected. The numbers are sufficient to impact water quality and pose a health concern, so we have put up warning signs at the carpark and north entry.

The water hole should not presently be used for any activities that require contact with the water including:

  • Drinking
  • Swimming
  • Fishing

Please also restrict access for your pets.

We'll continue to monitor the water quality with regular sampling and will provide more updates as further information becomes available.
