We're partnering with the Beechworth Corrections Centre to deliver a Community Firewood Collection Program for 2024.
This program aims to provide eligible community members with the opportunity to acquire firewood at no cost from the Beechworth Transfer Station, located at 1620 Diffey Road.
Through the program, each qualified property is allocated one cubic meter of wood. Deliveries will not be available this season, so participants will be required to collect their firewood directly from the designated location.
To be part of this initiative, interested individuals must provide their Pension card or DVA Card number upon application. The program is limited to the first 50 eligible community members who apply. Applications close on 30 September, 2024, if the supply hasn't already been exhausted by this date. Once enrolled on the waiting list, applicants will be notified by a staff member when a load of wood becomes available for collection, which may take a period of three to six weeks.
