The Local Government Act 2020 requires each council to prepare a Revenue and Rating Plan to cover a minimum period of four years following each Council election.
The Revenue and Rating Plan draws on information contained in the Annual Budget and Long Term Financial Plan to show the revenue raising framework within which the Council proposes to work.
The purpose of the Revenue and Rating Plan is to determine the most appropriate and affordable revenue and rating approach for Indigo Shire Council which in conjunction with other income sources will adequately finance the objectives in the council plan.
This plan is required by the Local Government Act 2020 and is part of Council’s integrated planning framework. Strategies outlined in this plan align with the objectives contained in the Council Plan and will feed into the budgeting and long-term financial planning documents, as well as other strategic planning documents under the strategic planning framework.
