The Places campaign was launched on 14 February 2022. It features local businesses and business people Beechworth and Yackandandah that are involved in creative pursuits.
Each business owner was given a disposable camera to take 25 images around their town to illustrate what makes their part of Indigo great. An exemplary image was selected from each camera and printed as a post card. These cards are now available for free from the Beechworth and Yackandandah visitor information centres as well as the businesses that took part in the campaign.
In addition to the postcards, the campaign will also feature professional portraits of each business owner as well as a joint portrait of someone else from the community who they admire and a short video designed for social media in which they show the audience a place in town that is important to them.
The campaign has been developed to follow on from our Rutherglen focused FACES campaign with a focus on Beechworth and Yackandandah. It aims to share a local experience with the wider community of visitors that come to Indigo Shire.
The campaign will be rolled out across the Beechworth and Yackandandah explore websites, as well as each towns Facebook and Instagram accounts.
