The Chiltern Community Hub welcomes the colour and whimsy of Lisa Bishop's artwork for the next six months.

Chiltern artist Lisa Bishop is the second artist to feature work in the Chiltern Hub, as part of the Hub Street Gallery Ephemeral Art Program.  Three magnificent works, all based on local birdlife have been printed and installed on feature walls in the centre.  The works are joyful interpretations of local birds, and will be in place for six months for the community to enjoy.  Here are Lisa's descriptions of the works:

The Mystic of the bush (Owl)

This serene owl was created using alcohol inks on synthetic paper. This medium is very playful and spontaneous, you have to move quickly because the ink dries very fast so no time for over thinking.

This mystical owl came out with such a beautiful calming vibe. An encounter with an Owl is a magical thing, they just watch quietly and observe with the gentle grace of knowing.

The Regent Honeyeater

This guy is our very own local celebrity. I have learnt just recently that this little guy is quite the gentleman of the honeyeater species and he only likes the top shelf nectar. We are very privileged to be one of a very few places that he decides to live. Alcohol ink on synthetic paper.

Regent Honeyeater mural of a bird with yellow and black speckles and a yellow feathered front.

Baby Kookaburra

This little guy is one of my favourite birds to paint. They represent family, and for me there is nothing more important.  I absolutely love hearing the full chorus of these amazing birds having a belly laugh, I can’t help but laugh along with them.  Alcohol Ink on synthetic paper.
