A community hub for meetings and small events, the Stanley Athenaeum is the former Stanley Library, it has a historic book collection, and community archives and is open on a regular basis for visitors with changing exhibitions.
The Friends of Stanley Athenaeum manage the adjacent Memorial Hall and the public toilet block.
Note - the Memorial Hall can host up to 100 people whereas the Athenaeum and Public Room has a capacity of 50 people.
