We are now in Caretaker Mode, otherwise known as the Election Period. During this period, from midday 17 September until 6pm on 26 October, there are certain restrictions on what we can and cannot publish. This is to ensure a fair election. Now home to Beechworth’s accredited Visitor Information Centre, the 1859 Town Hall building has been host to many tenants over the years, including Indigo Shire offices, a police station and courthouse, fire station and public hall.
The building boasts original architecture with an impressive vaulted ceiling and large columns. The original pipe organ also returned home in 2018 after its discovery in a church in North Melbourne. The grand old hall is another heritage treasure of the Historic Precinct.
The Town Hall is available for hire for events or community meetings.
Contact the Visitor Information Centre staff for more information or for Historic Precinct and walking tour tickets. The Visitor Information Centre also assists with accommodation bookings, where to go and what to see in Beechworth and surrounds.
Open daily from 9.30am-4.30pm. Disability access available.
