Library After Dark Returns to Beechworth Library!

We are thrilled to announce Library After Dark will return for Term 2 and 3 in 2025! Exclusively for 12 to 18-year-olds, commencing April 30, the Beechworth Library will open its doors every Wednesday from 5 PM to 7 PM for a special evening just for teens. This program will run until September 17, offering a fantastic space for young people to stay warm through our Beechworth winter - unwind, study, and connect with friends.

Whether you’re looking to catch up on homework, dive into a good book, or simply hang out, we’ve got you covered. You can choose to: 

• Study: Utilise the quiet spaces and resources of the library to get your schoolwork done.
• Hang Out: Relax and socialise in a safe, welcoming environment.
• Play Board Games: Challenge your friends to a game or discover a new favourite.
• Explore the Digital Library: Access a vast collection of e-books, audiobooks, and more.
• Browse the Book Collection: Find your next great read among our extensive selection.
• Use Public Computers and Wi-Fi: Take advantage of our computer stations and free Wi-Fi for research, homework, or leisure activities

And, of course, what’s an evening without snacks? We’ll have delicious options to keep you fueled throughout the night. 

This program will be supervised by library staff to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all participants. Young people will be supervised whilst inside the library, but are not required to stay for the full session, as per our usual library hours. Once young people have left the library, council staff cannot offer any supervision. No forms are required to attend, but young people will be given the opportunity to share an emergency contact with us should they choose.
