The Lakes and Waterways Activation Plan is focused on recreation at key lakes and waterways within the Shire.
It is not a management plan for these sites, rather it seeks to identify a range of opportunities that Council, in conjunction with community and agency partners, can progress to increase resident and visitor use of these sites for recreation.
The mix of recreation uses across a network of lakes and waterways promotes the natural environment and beautiful landscapes within our townships and region. These special places are highly valued by residents and visitors and are substantial lifestyle and tourism assets.
The plan explores how to encourage greater recreation use and tourism benefits from the region's lakes and waterways.
This plan was adopted by Council on 15 September, 2020.
