Building Permit Information

Generally, a building permit is required whenever you build, extend or modify the use of a building. The cost of the building permit can vary as the amount may include Victorian Government taxes which are calculated on the value of works.

In some cases, a building permit may not be required, refer to the building permits page for more information on specific types of work.

Permit fees are determined by the cost of the works and type of construction. A quote is available upon request and is valid for 60 days from the application date.

We reserve the right to review fees during the permit process and payment is due upon lodgement of application.
