Resurfacing of the Beechworth Netball Courts at Baarmutha Park was undertaken as part of Council’s renewal program for Recreation Reserves. The 2021-22 budget provides $70,000 for renewal works, including $35,000 for this project.
This work was a periodic activity undertaken to correct imperfections in the asphalt base and apply two new coats of acrylic surfacing with new line marking to maintain the useful life and safety of the courts.
Works began in late February 2022 and after a four week absence, Beechworth netballers were pleased to return to training this week on their newly resurfaced courts in readiness for the coming season.
The netball courts were closed for the period of the works and following consultation with the club, an alternative location was used for netball training during this time. The Beechworth Netball Club was consulted regarding the preferred colours for the new surfacing, which will be repainted the same as the existing courts.
The courts are now restored to as-new condition for the benefit and safety of all users.
