We're upgrading both the Lake Anderson swing bridge at Chiltern and the Traton Street bridge at Wahgunyah with Council awarding a contract to Waratah Constructions to undertake the work.
This project is part of a Shire-wide initiative to upgrade bridges.
Some timber components on both bridges have reached end of life. New longer lasting materials will be integrated into the existing construction to extend the life of the bridges.
Work on the Lake Anderson bridge will commence on 18 January and is scheduled to be complete by 10 February. Work on the Traton St bridgewill commence on the 5 February and is scheduled to be complete by the 1 March.
Both bridges are used by foot traffic and bicycles and will be closed during the construction periods.
